All Catholic parishes (like ours) are self-sustaining.

We receive no money from the Pope or the Archbishop, but instead pay our dues to the Archdiocese of Southwark. These are substantial. On top of this, there are the fixed costs of the parish: heating, lighting, phones, internet, maintaining the premises, and supporting our parish clergy. We depend upon your generosity in order to exist.

DONATE ONLINE

If you wish to donate via bank transfer please use the account name RCAS Purley, the account number 79116345, and the sort code 60-50-01.

While all donations are helpful and received with gratitude, we are especially grateful to those who feel able to set up a standing order. Please consider completing a Standing Order mandate [PDF] and returning it to the parish.

One lasting way to support the parish – and future generations of Catholics in Purley – is to leave a legacy to the parish. The Archdiocese of Southwark has a team with resources who can help with this. For more details, see their dedicated legacy page. Please be sure to stipulate that the legacy is intended for the benefit of “St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Purley”.

If you Gift Aid your contributions to the parish, you increase them by 25% at no cost to you. The only requirement is that you be a UK taxpayer. Please see the following documentation:

Finally, offering a stipend for a Mass intention is a way of contributing to the upkeep of your priests. It is a donation not a fee, but our archdiocese recommends a minimum of £10. To book a Mass intention, please make your contribution and then e-mail purley@rcaos.org.uk with the following details: 1. your name; 2. the intention requested; 3. the stipend given.
